New arrivals!

Yesterday we nipped over to Shepherds Bush to collect the latest additions to the family: Lola and Rose, a pair of 5 month old black & white kittens which we've rehoused for Hounslow Animal Welfare Society. When we got them home, they promptly disappeared under the sofa for two hours, which didn't look terribly comfortable as there's only about 2" or 3" of headroom under there. In the end we dismantled the sofa to get them out and took them to the kitchen instead. Next the checked out the narrow gap around the side of the fridge. After about 6 hours of coaxing, they finally settled down a bit.

So far, they haven't eaten much and they're still super-scaredy. Hopefully they will become a little bolder when they get more used to their new surroundings.

Me and grandma like the look of your kittens and are glad to hear of your new stick insect arrivals. We were going to ask for a couple of them for Tom, but have since found out that their Dad can't bear to be near any insects with long legs. It's a long time since we've seen you and we must try to get to Kingston before Xmas.Uncle Rob says your Dad is restoring a bike, but we haven't been able to get to that part of your blog. How is it done? Love from Grandma + Granddad xx
